I believe a negative one. Legislation should only be based on legitimate, factual, and rationale arguements. One group influencing the law of the land with their own religious beliefs, makes a mockery out of our individual rights.

Religion does not fit in with politics, but wait if we are talking about right wing politics then yes right wing ideologies do mix with religion. Both are useless. right wing politics are the worst kinds of politics to follow. And so is religion as a whole.
most countries have a right wing government. most countries are tied to religion. It angers me to know religion and politics are so close together, as if we were still living in complete ignorance to not know that god is not real!!

I agree with Emma. They have destroyed the Republican Party, the party of gentlemen (and women) such as Gerald R. Ford. At least we still have Susan Collins.

Where is the voice of reason in the Republican Party? Where are the moderates?

I think the media try to make religious groups involvment in politics look bad because it dimishes their impact on politics.

I believe they thought they were on the threshold of making our country a Theocracy with Bush as their man in the White house, he took them for a ride, too.

I think that religion belongs in the privacy of the home and has no place in public whatsoever - particularly in politics or government.
