I stopped swaddling my first when she was able to bust out of it, that was around 4 months, she always slept soundly. Now with my newborn (she's 11 days old) she doesn't like being swaddled, she likes to suck her hand and move around. I noticed her moving around and kind of groaning so I unswaddled her and she fell asleep. Every baby is different, just do what he/she is comfortable with.

Each baby is different...
My oldest slept more soundly swaddled until about 5 months.. When not swaddled she would fuss..
My middle child wanted freedom from day one and fussed anytime I tried to swaddle him.. he just seemed to want a blanket layed over him not wrapped..
My youngest liked swaddling for about 2 months then fussed.
Go with what your baby seems to want, try modifying the swaddle leaving her arms free... Experiment a little and you will find what works for you and your baby.

I stopped swaddling once my baby could reallly move her legs around. She squirmed out of the swaddling after about a month. I do still wrap her in a blanket when she goes to bed but not tightly.

I stopped at 5 months (!!) but my bubs was happy being swaddled and did not wriggle out- she did however like to have her hands out and they are a self comforter for babies. I was worried that she would not sleep as well so I did it gradually - one arm out for 2 nights and then the other arm and then just her body and legs wrapped lightly for 3 nights and then all covers off :) Worked well and no sleep disturbance.

I stopped swaddling when my babies were about 2months old and they kept kicking their blanket off. If she won't fall asleep without it, next time you swaddle, make sure to keep one arm free so she can suck on her fingers. It may be a soothing thing for her, kind of her security.

A lot of babies love swaddling even at that age... but they want to put everything in their mouths, and bringing their hands to their mouth is their way of telling us that they are hungry. If she can't sleep without it, you can still swaddle her, but leave her arms free so that when she moves them she doesn't unwrap herself.

My 5 month old loves to be swaddled. We use the SwaddleMe blanket. It fastens with velcro and you can swaddle arms in or out.

Three weeks. I guess if it makes her comfortable leave it. She will eventually grow out of it.
