This is a tough question to answer because I know I will forget something.

I have met some of the most interesting men through this organization. A Navy SEAL, one original member of the first class of Green Berets, lawyers, a process server, a psychiatrist, and the countless other brethren who are interesting in ways not related to their careers.

I participate in charities through Masonic bodies such as the Shriners Childrens’ Hospital in Honolulu.

I receive excellent advice from brethren whenever I need guidance.

When I was being forced out of my apartment due to the owner selling and not honoring the lease, brethren helped me find a new place to live, move, fight the legal battle to regain my security deposit, and even offered to put me up should I not be able to find a new place fast enough.

The amount I have learned is also staggering. Not only do we have short educational segments during meetings, but being a Mason has inspired me to learn more about history. My father and I have also traced our genealogy back far enough to realize that I am the 6th generation in our family to become a Mason. And it in turn brought my father and I closer together even though we live 5,000 miles apart.

It is the best thing i have ever done. The list is endless. I have been given endless chances to give and help people in need. I have made friends with several good people. I have friends who are 80 and others that are 20. Having friends in different stages of life really helps put what is important in your life in perspective.

If you think it is going to help you out money wise or get you out of tickets, don't join. That is not what being a mason is about.

Remember anyone can join. But it is against the rules for a mason to invite someone to join. recruiting in anyway is against the rules
