He's closing tonight so he won't be home till after 9 but I got a cake and card. I am going to give him the gift card tonight, but should I put the receipt in so that it's with the gift card (as proof of payment) or hold on to it myslef until he is ready to use the card? It was a bit pricy and I don't know if I want him to know how much I spent, though he will eventually. Or do you think that putting the receipt in is tacky?

I don't want to brag at all. I just want him to be happy with the gift, which I know he will. He LOVES his car. Trans Am, 6 spd, 2001, midnight blue. He practically creamed when he saw it. LoL!!!

I would hold on to the receipt just in case the clerk made a mistake when he sold the gift card.
Cheers,

Of the reciept is not neccessary to have then you don't need to put in there. It would be like your bragging about how much you spent on him. If he eventually finds out like when he gets there how much it cost then fine but you dont have to tell him or show the reciept.
