It could but it is highly unlikely. Money is actually partially made of cotton cloth so it was designed to take abuse. It is almost like clothing. If it was made entirely of paper it would have a very short lifespan and the government would be replacing paper money at an alarming rate.

No not really, I've washed no lie hundreds of dollars, and its never fallen apart. It comes out of the dryer kinda crispy though. Haha. It could get caught in the lint traps though.

No, it won't. When your cash eventually makes its way back to the National Treasury, they put all the money through giant washers, and clean it. American dollars are waterproofed, and will not rip on their own. I leave money in my pockets all the time.

No it usually doesn't. It comes out very crispy!!
I have had a very old bill in the wash and when it was done drying I could not unfold unless it cracked a bit. I was still able to use though.

It depends on how crisp the bills were before they got washed. If they were already tattered, they might just tear easier. But otherwise they might look a little faded and crinkly after drying.

nope, we learned about this in social studies this semester n i tried it myself. the reason it stays together is because it has threads of cotton through it holding it together
