I'm the only woman in a small company. My coworkers all smoke in the office and in the restroom (we have only 1 restroom). I recently found out I'm pregnant. But they still smoke when my boss isn't around. I need help, my hair, clothes all smell like smoke, and I am furious about my coworkers. What can I do? Boss just tell them not to smoke in the office, but nobody listens. I work at Los Angeles. I really want to report about this to some authority but don't want to be the threat to my boss. (he's been a great boss to me)

If your boss is great, he'll understand your complaint. Your health as well as the baby's is much more important. If talking to your boss doesn't help, you need to talk to someone else. Is there an HR department you can go to? Your co-workers should have more respect for your health. Your boss may be nice but is he going to take carry of the medical bills if your baby suffers health issues due to second-hand smoke?

If all else fails, contact OSHA regarding this health concern. If OSHA comes to the office, you can best believe something will change.

Yea, i could be relatively annoyed if somebody replaced into smoking interior the non smoking section. that is purely undeniable dumb if there's a non smoking section. If i replaced into pregnant, i don't comprehend that i might even flow to a place that had a smoking section interior, or if I did, i might ask to be seated as some distance removed from the smoking section as conceivable.

Your baby needs to come first. You might want to tell your boss again or try asking your coworkers to please not smoke as you are pregnant. If nothing works, you should look for another job. The baby's health is priority.

Alas! you are a married woman otherwise I would have married you and not let you work specially in this condition. Now you can ask your husband to work hard and do a part time job and keep you at home unless you born a baby at the moment I can just pray for you.

put a NO SMOKING sign near you or on the desk, and when they come near and are smoking shove it in their stupid face, ask them politely not to smoke because of your condition. If they continue you should report them. after all its yours and your babys health at stake. Go to your Boss and explain why you are not doing so and ask him to help you out...or you'll have to go furthur...
