Why? Because he's trying to warn the world that if we don't change our ways, this planet will change ITS ways - and we, as a species, might not survive??
I tire of the 'morons' who believe they can squander this Earth's natural resources, pollute the air and water, dispose of all our human waste, and rip away all the elements of the Earth that gives every species life.
Our grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and future generations will curse us for the way we wasted all of Earth's precious capital, as if we're the only ones who mattered.
When we run out of rain forests, wetlands, oil, coal, natural gas, fresh water, clean air, and rich soil, who will these future generations blame for not even trying to reduce, re-use, or recycle?
When landfills overrun our communities with the stench of toxic wastes so that human beings can no longer breathe without a gas mask, who will these future generations blame for being so callously careless?
Someday you (might) grow up and have children of your own, and even precious grandchildren. They, too, will have children and grandchildren - and will they be proud to know that you, in your misguided youth, decided it was okay to destroy the planet so that they couldn't share the kind of life you lived when you were here? Our disposable society has this attitude that we "live for today" and let tomorrow take care of itself. If your ancestors had that kind of disrespect for nature, you might be able to have such a flippant attitude about such important issues as the depletion of the ozone layer; global warming; and the ripping away of all the Earth's riches.
So, is Al Gore a complete moron? FALSE.
