You have to build your team up with drafting and trades, so it usually takes a while. I would guess that they'll be successful when they're about a dozen years old or so, at the youngest. FLA is nearly there though... CBJ not so much.

I think that the Blue Jackets will be above .500 next year. They're close this season, as of tonight they are 30-37-x (not sure on OT losses). Hitchcock will have all summer to get what he wants and work with all the kids on the team. I pray that they'll make the playoffs, but I'm not too sure about that. The Panthers... They're in the NHL?!

As with all sports that have a salary cap winning depends on how much money the owner wants to put into scouting and management and if he can pick the right scouts and managers if the regime isnt doing good it probably never will until there is front office change.

Not too long. As you have seen with teams like the Flyers it is very easy for a team to go from bad to good- or in their case good to bad in one season. I thought the panthers would have a good season this year though, but they turned out to be a bust.

If the Panthers keep making masterpiece deals like Luongo for Bertuzzi & Auld .... it'd be safe to say .... POSITIVELY NEVER!!

The Jackets ..... close to never.
