They Make a product just for this problem. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of it But ....I use to use about 1/4 cup of salt....It workd great! And a lot cheaper!

try adding a bit of pool chlorine to it,know how many gallons of water it holds and go by the bottle,let it run for a bit before entering
