Not starving, just hungry (Difference in severity), but the fact that there are those without enough food is a national embarrassment. The only reason I can think of is that social service agencies have incredibly poor management.

Underfed maybe but not starving. There is no excuse for going hungry in the U.S. There are food banks in every community and free kitchens. I have never seen any pictures equal to the ones from countries where there is truly starvation (ribs showing etc). We have food available but some places have none at times. It is a shame that the distribution of wealth is so unfair.

in basic terms mentally ill human beings. somebody suggested foodstamps is a hundred thirty a month - not real. it varies a good purchase based on your loved ones and your earnings and sources and stuff. it must be 15 a month, or 500. besides, a hundred thirty can relatively feed a kinfolk of four (a kinfolk of four might get better than that). a 20 pound bag of rice, a 20 pound bag of dry beans, 20 pounds of pasta, 20 pounds of rooster while this is on sale in 10 pound sacks, and you have nonetheless have been given plenty left over. there are additionally nutrition banks everywhere, yet ingesting canned beans each and every night might suck. there is likewise soup (and sandwich) kitchens run by using church homes and charities everywhere in case you recognize the place to look, and dumpsters (in case you think of it is gross then improve up. you will hit upon some incredible stuff in dumpsters. bypass to the donut shop dumpster half-hour while they close.). and there is often spanging - this is not hard to feed your self by using begging in case you could desire to or opt to. homeless shelters - plenty do shy away human beings, some do not. while the climate is such that somebody might freeze to dying, they don't shy away human beings. if absolutely everyone starves in usa this is the agricultural babies of mentally ill, probably drug-addicted human beings.

Because a lot of people refuse to work.

Unfortunately, the first answerer is slightly wrong. The US does give free money - welfare. And people will take welfare for as long as they can, along with food stamps, which is just like getting free money. Once the time to get these expires, they still refuse to work, so they have no money for food. Then they blame everyone else.

Because the U.S. gov't doesn't pay enough attention to it's own people. They're too busy taking care of all the other countries.

Because your government won't take care of it's own. So what the hell are they doing in Iraqi for? Taking care of democracy? The Iraqi's? Your security? Or themselves?
Trillions of dollars are spent annually on military might. A tenth of that would feed your poor.
