As a relaxation technique I wanted to try to make a nice CD to listen to during labor. I've seen it recommended on several sites and the hospital I will deliver at encourages use of many things-birthing ball, birthing tub etc...I was going to just compile a few songs of inspiration, motherly type, just overall nice songs just to have it as an available option. I know in the actual situation somethings go out the window but can't say I didnt try! Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

We'll Be Together Tonight by Sting (this was playing when I stared pushing with my last and I was laughing and crying as it was so perfect!)

the sole think of I plan on listening to while i'm in labour/giving start is Enya. i understand that sounds lame yet Enya is my rest song - its so calming, haunting and eye-catching. perhaps you ought to place some Enya songs on your relaxatio CD? have faith me, they actually do calm the soul.

Anything by Enya...the nurse that ran my birthing class had an Enya CD and it put me in another place. Unfortunately, I didn't have it for labor and delivery (and I didn't want it!), but I had Judge Mathis! Whatever works!
