I have this really nice friend, and I heard a few weeks ago that he liked me. I love him to death, but not as more than a friend. He wrote me this really sweet poem about how he feels about me, and now he wants an answer about how I feel about him. I need a way to turn him down without losing him as a friend. We both go to a really small school and even have a couple classes together, so I see him everyday. He's really sweet, but I just don't like him as any more than a friend, and I have never thought of him as more than a friend. Please help, I need an answer ASAP!!!

If my heart could express the feeling it could
I'd spend every second with you I would
I wrote this poem to show my affection
If you had the same feelings it would be perfection

I myself have written such a poem in similar hopeless circumstances; this is the answer that I needed then but didn't receive:
Tell him the exact truth. Thank him for the poem, tell him it was beautiful, make him realise that you understand what he is offering. Thank him but tell him that if you were to write him a poem it would be about the joy of friendship not love. Tell him the things you like about your friendship the way it is, why you value it, why you want it to continue. State very, very clearly that you look forward to walking with him as a friend but the particular path he wants to take now he must walk with another person. Honour his confidentiality. Sign off as his friend.
Do not procrastinate, don't say, "I'm not ready","I am not sure", "I'm not worthy". You are certain, you know your mind, you are swift, sure and in being so, merciful.

nicely, first in case you DO ensue to pass out returned determine you stay away from actual touch. some women take small signs and symptoms like retaining hands or perchance a hand on their shoulder as flirting. attempt to no longer flirt back together with her or purchase her issues. If she would not get the hint (and notwithstanding if she does) only tell her that she's an exceedingly superb person yet no longer your style. tell her that she's greater of a chum. that is greater advantageous to do this head to head because of the fact she might misread it over a textual content textile or a decision. If she gets mad or disenchanted, supply her some area to settle down. desire this permits!

You live in my heart and my heart is sad
for the love you seek is not to be had
I care for you in the deepest way
just not like that, if I may say?
I love you true and always will
as a friend that is, will yóu like me still?
for friends we are forever and all time
And as a friend you'll make my heart chime...

I dont know.. adapt it to what you think and feel....:)
discribe all other positive feelings and thoughts you have for him and let it be very clear thát love is not there....

I understand. I had a friend ask me out and I gave in. The thing about it was, I was MISERABLE. We broke up and he turned out gay anyway.

What Im saying is that you should let him know exactly how you feel. If he's your friend he'll understand, and try to say something encouraging, like 'There's more fish in the sea'. Well not that, it sounds corny.
