Well, that's a real tough question, because I certainly was never expecting the Ledger-Gyllenhaal pair, but they worked amazingly well.
Let's see . . . I'm so bad at casting . . . personally, I'd love to see Michael Vartan jump-start his career back up with a smoking hot role, maybe as a gay bad-boy type, possibly with Edward Norton. I've always wanted to see Ed in a gay role- I think he could do it well.
I could also envision Joaquin Phoenix in a very sensitive role with Jude Law . . . but that's probably because I'm terribly in lust with Jude Law and can't get enough of him teasing me with gay innuendo (ah, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Wilde . . .).
But it all really depends on the movie. If you gave me the next famous gay script, I could probably better envision the perfect men to take up the roles and play off of one another. But just picturing any pair, well, it's hard to choose.
I know they were talking about doing a U.S. film version of Sarah Waters' lesbian novel "Tipping the Velvet" that was set to star Beyonce and Eva Longoria, but dropped them (thank goodness!). If it's still on, I'd love to see Milla Jovovich and Maggie Gyllenhaal try it. I think they'd be lovely.

absolutely everyone else notice that "usa IS a Christian usa" can not look to stay out of the gay boards? i think of somebody is combating very own demons. Now... to respond to your question, "MAURICE" is a good movie. I wasn't all that loopy approximately BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. besides the fact that if the e book (certainly, a short tale) is especially great. HOOPLA! Rock E. Horror

I don't know about male actors...but there is only one gay couple I know of I would love to see a movie made with.

Shakespeare's life revolving around his male lover........can you imagine???????? It would be fabulous..set in the Elizabethan era.... a young man is in love with a famous playwright named William........so 'romantical' (word reference from Chi Chi of Too Wong Foo)
I think I would title the film 'Shakespeare's Closet' or Shakespeare's Lover or 'My Life'............Can you imagine how fabulous this movie could be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
