All dragonflies are predatory both as nymphs and as adults. Dragonflies specialize with other flying insects. Their forelegs make a basket which they will use to catch other flying insects in flight. They will then shovel their prey into their moth.
The nymphs have an adapted grasping labium which springs out from under the head to snare prey, which can include other insects, small fish and tadpoles.
