I would say that, on average, sixth graders probably receive 20-30 minutes of homework in each major class (LA, math, SS, science) each night. If you are taking a foreign language or other electives, you have to add in time for those as well. The average sixth grader should probably spend about 1-1/2 to 2 hours on homework each night; however, not everyone works at the same speed. Some students will be able to complete those assignments in less than an hour, and others may take over three hours to do them.

Were any of those long-term assignments/projects, or even assignments you had more than one night to do? Sometimes that can affect how much time you spend on homework. When I assign projects or give extra days for homework completion, I expect my students to spend time on the work each night, as if it were a part of their regular homework.

HTH!

1. Math - Yes, that was a but much. 4 pages?

2. Language Arts - Couldn't you have read during a free period, during dinner, on the bus, etc? That would have cut down your time considerably.

3. Science - Sounds normal.

4. Social Studies - Well, it was a project, so I would expect it to take quite some time. I am sure you don't have a project every night.

5. Computer Class - Normal

6. Spanish - Normal

I think that that is way too much homework. I'm a 7th grader and I usually do 30 min. of homework in each major subject (social studies, math, science, and language arts). It might depend on your school, city or teachers. If it is too much, talk about it with your parents and maybe talk to your teachers too if it really gets out of control. If you have study hall during school, then try to start some of your homework then so that it won't be as much to deal with when you get home. Good Luck!

Not really. You do have a pretty decent workload but nothing ridiculous to me. I had about the same amount of work in 6th grade on a daily basis. You'll be much, much more prepared for high school. I went to a different high school after middle school and the other kids didn't get as much work. Now they're going insane because they have much more than 2 hours of homework nightly, a drastic change from their middle school.

If you mean that 4cm = 12 km then 1cm would=3 km so the you just plug in the number if 1=3 then 20 = 3x's that 60 See how I got the relationship of 4:12 is 1:3

That doesnt seem like too much for me becuase i got a lot more in 6th grade but i was in advanced classes. If your not that does seem like a lot but maybe your teacher are just making you do a lot of homework so the class doesnt get behind.

Okay way tooo much homework! If it's at the end of the term that's normal but if you haven't been procrastinating all term and you get this much homework every day tell your teachers to bug off! I'm in eighth grade and I always finish my homework at school. So yeah way to much homework.
-Have fun!!
