the only real answer is 2 work on your leg strength. if you can do a split, you shouldn't have a problem w/ this. all you have to do is make sure you point you toes && pull up in you center. just keep practicing && trying 2 reach your leg out in fron tof you.

Remember that a jete is actually two grande battement. Obviously it helps to be naturally flexible to get your legs up. But making sure that your feet make a 'swishing' sound as they come through first gives you more cantact with the floor and thus you can push off the floor better, gaining more height of your legs and the actuall jete. A couple of runs before the jete can also give that extra bit of push.
(but you can do jete's with straight legs, or flick jete's where you flick your front leg out.)

I would say concentrate on your momentum. The momentum would be the chasses, runs, any traveling step that you perform before you perform the jete or leap. The more momentum the grand-er the jete or leap. Also concentrate on having straight legs, pointed toes, and nice arms when you leap or jete. One more thing keep your head up. I hope that I helped you out. I wish you best of luck this week. Have fun!!!

DO THIS!
first warm up
then do grand jetes without a prep step or any step before hand . do it for a long distance and try to relax your legs while you are in the air... gravity will eventually push them up for you if you are warmed up and felexible a bit.
it works just alternating legs up as you go across the floor!
one you learn how it supposed to feel you will always be able to do it. REMEMBER NO NO NO PREP STEP!!!!!

The number one way to get higher leaps is deepen your Plie! Yes your preparation is important, as well as leg strength. However, the deeper you plie the higher you will get off the ground and the more time you will have to lift your legs up.
Hope this helps!

stretch really well before doing leaps so flexibility or stiffness isnt an issue. ok now always plie before leaping this will really help. think up not distance, if you shoot straight up you will be able to open up your legs more.

you need to focus of your runs or chasses, reach out your front leg, turn out your back leg, and point your toes, but to make your leaps prettier try to match the height of your front and back legs.
