Just to clarify, the hereditary material in the cell is DNA, located in the nucleus.

The only DNA located outside the nucleus is in the mitochondria. The DNA in the mitochondria contains very little information, through evolution the useful stuff has been moved into the nucleus (it is thought the mitochondria were originally separate organisms that lived inside other cells, the mitochondrial DNA is the legacy from this).

In plant cells, DNA is also located in the chloroplasts. Again this is a very tiny point.

RNA is not a hereditary material, it is degraded very quickly and used only as a temporary carrier of genetic information.

Mitochondria for RNA, Nucleus for DNA, hereditary material such as chromosome's are located in the nucleus. Genetic material are also hereditary in it's own way, so further description in your question would be required.
