This was the theory of why Germany lost the First World war. "We didn't lose it. We were stabbed in the back." This was Hitler's, the Nazi's, and other Germans' explanations. In this theory, it was the Jews living in Germany, born in Germany, who betrayed the country during the war. Utter nonsense, of course, but very persuasive to a great nation that had just been beaten into the ground by a coalitiion of allies.

Your question really dosen’t make a lot of sense. Are you talking about a diversionary/scapegoat theory?

I would have to disagree with the poster above me. The Germans were most defiantly stabbed in the back by the Allies. The whole point of the Treaty of Versailles was that there would be no victors and no blame, and instead the Germans were saddled with massive reparations that shattered their economy. Instead of bringing Germany back into the international system post WWI, as with France in the wake of the Napoleonic wars, Germany was shunned and shattered…which left the door open for the rise of radical movements.

I have never heard of the "stab in the back theory". Explain. Are you referring to Mussolini's stab in the back to France when he invaded France after the beginning of WWII? Or the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor in 41?

people supposedly supporting one side actually do whatever they can to sabotage the war effort. For examples look up "non binding resolution" and "withdrawal deadline".

Sadly, it's not a theory. It is happening.

According to me it means like when someone is your friend and knows this person you hate and pretends to hate that person too and then all of a sudden becomes that persons friends and starts turning out to be just like that person. You get what I mean!

"Stab in the back" , or "Back stabber" means a betrayer.
Or when you do something behind another one's back without them knowing.
