Have you changed the fuel filter lately? Or ever?

If the fuel filter is clogged on any internal-combustion engine, the motor will run at idle but will shut off when the accelerator is opened, which starves the engine of fuel - when you hit the throttle with a clogged fuel filter, it only takes in a ton of air and doesn't get enough fuel to keep the combustion going.

Good luck~
