I like most any car manufactured by Honda, Toyota or Subaru. Great reliability records & very loyal fan base.
Am looking into trucks right now, meself, so I would say look at the Toyota Tundra or Honda Ridgeline, sorta in your price range.
And four doors all the way in any case! The more the merrier!

That would be the new Honda Civi it the best in it class for under 25000.

Mitsubishi Lancer, I have a 2003, and it stands up to the coldest Canadian winters... it also looks really sporty, and is easy to soup up!
