I have heard that there is a term for people who are attracted to serial murderers, rapists, and other forms of violent people. I'm not talking about liking an actor who plays one on televison but actual murderers and rapists. What are these people called?

These are the type of people who followed Ted Bundy and Richard Ramierez in court and wrote them love letters and proposals. I don't understand why people would admire somebody who doesn't give a crap about life and would probably kill you if given the chance. I'm curious to know more about this.

My guess is that the people who want to identify with the murderers have no control over their lives, have never been taught to be independent, and obviously been treated with disrespect. I think they are attracted to the murderers because these people exhibited COMPLETE CONTROL over their victims, and unfortunately, that's what these people need, someone to take care of them in their warped definition of what caring is. (I'm not putting any of them down, the outside people, everyone feels the way they do for their own reasons.) As I said, that's my GUESS.

Some like the fishing, and others like the fowling,
and some like to hear, the canon balls a roaring.
Me I like sleeping, specially in my Jenny's chamber,
but here I am in prison, here I am with ball and chain.

I counted out his money, and it made a pretty penny.
I put it in my pocket and I took it home to Jenny.
She said and she swore, that she never would deceive me.
But the devil take the women, for they never can be easy.

Being drunk and weary I went to Jenny's chamber,
Taking my money with me and I never knew the danger.
At about six or maybe seven in walked Captain Farrell,
I jumped up, fired off my pistols and I hit him with both barrels.

If anyone can aid me, it's my brother in the army,
If I can find his station down in Cork or in Killarny.
And if he'll come and save me, we'll go roving near Kilkenny.
And I swear he'll treat me better than me darling sportling Jenny.

i watched a news story on this, apparently a woman's 'motherly instinct' kicks in when they see them, they percieve the murderer as "just a naughty" boy, and they think they can help turn them into an honest man

in the majority of cases, it doesn't work
