I have a 93 aerostar 3.0 engine and I've gone thru many problems, it just stopped running and will turn over but not start.
I've been bouncing around error codes.
started with 64-IAT indicated 123 C (254 F) I circuit grounded.
replaced sensor retested and got
114-IAT sensor out of range - IAT and
116-Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range - ECT
tracked down a problem with the ignition control module and replaced that, still not starting, retested and got error code
543-Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
I can hear the pump running when I turn the key and I am not receiving any other codes other than 543 this code did not come up until replacing everything else
any ideas
Thanks
R

yeah forget the codes, when's the last time any of this got done:
oil and filter change.
spark plugs
spark plug wires
cap and rotor
pcv valve
air filter
breather cap
fuel filter.

Fix that first, see what happens.
If you DIY (it's not that hard, just takes time) you're out $200 at most, and at least all your maintenance is up to date... Well, kinda but that's the stupid stuff, always fix the cheapest stuff first when you're not sure, then that is eliminated and you can come back here and we'll diagnose for real lol.

Spray starting fluid directly into the throttle body while you hold it open; if it starts after you do that, you have a fuel problem. Just because the pump runs doesnt mean its building enough pressure. If thats a no go, then check for spark by holding the coil wire about a quarter inch from a good ground (using insulated pliers); the spark should by clear and blue, not orange. If it's orange and dull, you may have a bad coil wire or coil. If no spark, you may have a bad pick-up coil in the distributor or a bad ignition coil. These things require knowledge and tools I have to assume you have. If spark is good, make the same teat at the end of a plug wire... no spark, bad cap/rotor. This should keep you busy for a while, good luck.
