Knowledge is not hereditary, so it must be gained and attained through a source.

I think we can be born with intelligence. But some people are born with intelligence but choose not to access it. The living environment as a child probably has a lot to do with whether or not a person takes advantage of their intelligence later on in life; some children are pushed hard to be successful, and I would expect that these children are more aware of their intelligence and therefore are more likely to use it. I think many people are intelligent but just don't realize it, primarily because they were never taught that they have it.

To a certain extent we are born intelligent, and some children are obviously more intelligent and more capable of learning than others. However what you are talking about I believe is knowledge. The answer because knowledge is learned, not inherrently attained. Think of it like a computer. Some children are born with better hardware than others, but a computer is still only as good as it's software, basically only as good as what you put in it. Otherwise it is pretty much a blank slate. The human brain is much the same way, even though your genetics may have granted you with a better brain you still have to learn information and store it. We can't be born knowing everything because that is impossible, and knowledge is a direct result of our life experiences and what effort we put into attaining it. Usually the most intelligent children are the ones who also apply themselves the most in the attainment of knowlege and are given more support. Of course certain exceptions apply. History is littered with examples of very intelligent people who are underachievers or people of marginal intelligence striving beyond their means.

This is an amazing question. I wish I knew the scientific answer, but I do not.

I am sure with genetics progressing this will change. You will notice that some babies are super smart right away and for others it takes a while to grow.

Intelligence is based upon the capacity of one to use their own brain. So babies could be hyper intelligent when they are born and we would not know it because their other faculties have not yet caught up with their superior mental capacity.

For example; many kids who have trouble speaking properly have this issue due to the fact that their brain is working faster than their mouths are. So, they are in fact smarter than their peers yet perceived to be slower because they do not yet know how to speak their minds, so to speak.

But I would assume that knowledge as it relates to subjects is a direct relation to the capacity one has to learn. Even super-intelligent babies and people have to be taught. They can naturally have the capacity to learn, but without information flowing in from somewhere; whether the source is artificially implanted within them through genetics or taught to them at rapid speeds, there needs to be a connection.

So people are and can be born intelligent, it's the way they learn, their ability to expand on that knowledge and put it into action that eventually determines their "intelligence" level as you and I could measure it.

The problem is with the birth canal.

When a baby is growing in the woman's abdomen The largest part of it is the skull. For it to fit through that birth canal it has be born when the skull is still soft and before the head gets too large to fit. This is why babies are so fragile and have to learn so much. There are a lot of animals that come out of the womb and are ready to deal with life in only a few short hours. They grow enough in the womb that all their instincts are in place and ready to run right after birth. They have to get the land legs and do so very quickly. In a lot of mammals their digestive system is expecting mother’s milk, but they soon get over that and can eat their normal food. Predators need to be taught how to hunt so their childhood is shorter, but most herbivores are ready to go, they have to be because they are hunted and need to be able to flee at anytime. However, they do all this since they sacrifice intelligence.

For humans our greatest survival tactic lies in our brains and our ability to use tools. Except for the lungs and the intestine the largest organ in our bodies is our brain, it certainly demands more blood and supplies than any other organ does. This isn’t true with every animal. For example chickens can be beheaded and some can still survive. It is hard to believe, but I have heard eyewitness accounts. The only reason why this was possible is because they rely a lot on their much more on their reflexes than higher animals do. Of all the animals we have the longest childhood. Our nearest rivals the apes can reach adulthood in a third of the time it takes for a human, even less.

If we had women with hips four feet wide and a corresponding birth canal then we could have pregnancies lasting over a year with women able to bear children who can crawl and have mouths ready to handle human speech. Of course with a gestation period that long we would have a lot more grumpy men having to face some very angry women. As it is female have the widest hips possible and the primary way to tell if a skeleton belongs to a male or a female is the width of the hip. Men also have a natural instinct to favor women with wide hips; hence the desire for women with large breasts a narrow waist and wide hips. This is in our instincts because such a woman has a better chance of carrying a child, surviving childbirth and being able to feed and raise that child.

The human body has the shape it has for many reasons and we have attractions to the opposite sex for specific reasons. You have pointed out one complex reason for the female design.

um well for what i think i know why, because when we are born we have undeveloped brains like ever other animal out there we learn things froms our mothers or parents to get through life then we past it on to our kids and it goes on and on.. creating intelligent? won't that be creepy? well to me it would be creepy to create a human that has born intelligent about a lot of stuff.. might as well build robots to take over the world..

I Believe that we are born intellegent, but for lack of a better term, learning, is what unlocks the synapses of the brain to bring that knowlege and open-mindedness forward and becomes an active and integral part in the human mind.

Actually everyone is born with a certain level of intelligence that they can choose to reach, or never reach. And yes, some levels are lower then others...kind of discouraging I know.

Intelligent people ARE born that way. It's knowledge that we have to acquire.
