It really depends on the type of turtle.

they can go without water for up to a week. They need water when they eat because it helps them to swallow their floating turtle food sticks.

Taking him somewhere? where do you have in mind? how long?

He still needs the proper lighting ,water temp, ect.Unless it is really important,I wouldnt recomend taking your turtle anywhere, but thats just my opinion.

hope this helps a little.

They can last for quite some time without water, but I suggest you bring some anyways. Just get a deep water dish and fill it up about half way and put a rock in it that your turtle can climb on to rest. If you are planning on staying somewhere bring it's tank along and put it back in it's tank when you reach your destination.

It is stressful to take turtles out of their familiar house, so we do not recommend taking turtles for rides or walks.

A pond turtle does not need to live in water. It needs to hunt and eat in water, and mate in it, but they can live OK in a dry tank for a really long time.

I have a 37yo RES and he only travels when there is no other choice as the vibrations in the car are actually quite jarring to him...you can see that his neck is being jerked around and that has to leave him with sore muscles. He is generally pretty upset about travel and hides for a few days and may be off his feeding schedule.
