Check this out! World's youngest mother on record was five years old. I think she's still alive today.

Like most of the others have said, Yes, once the girl starts having her period, she can get pregnant. Sadly there are a growing number of young girls getting pregnant.

As much as I want to say that they shouldn't be having sex to begin with, I know that isn't reality now a days. So for any young females that really want to have sex...they absolutely need to use protection every time.

that is uncommon for women persons to have menstruation that early yet there are documented situations of ladies who started very early, and likely, the possibilities of being pregnant are comparable to in an older person. I undergo in concepts analyzing some case, regarding rape, of a baby in Peru.

After you've gotten your period and you're menstruating, it means that your body is able to have a baby (even though you probably don't want one yet!). Every girl has two ovaries filled with thousands of tiny eggs and two fallopian tubes that connect the ovaries to a place called the uterus or womb, where babies grow. If you've already gotten your period, it means that special chemicals, or hormones, in your body are telling the eggs in your ovaries to mature.

So each month, one egg matures and begins its journey to the uterus. While it's traveling, the walls of your uterus get thicker with blood and tissue, which can act as a nice, soft cushion for a baby. Once the egg reaches the uterus, if it hasn't been fertilized by sperm, the uterus doesn't need this blood-and-tissue cushion and pushes it out through your vagina. Ta dah! Your period has arrived!

If a girl is menstruating that means they are ovulating. If she is ovulating she can get pregnant. Ovulation usually starts 7-10 days before the first day of a girls period.

Well I suppose that it is possible, since menstruation is the release of an egg and all you need to get pregnant is an egg and sperm, then it is possible. However, at that age I don't think that the body could actually carry the child to term. So chances are a 10 year old could get pregnant if they had started menstruating at such an early age.

Yes, they can get pregnant once they start their period. They have their period after an egg is released from the ovaries so if there were sperm in there too they could get pregnant.

The youngest mother was 5 in South America. She was more interested in her dolls than her baby.

Yes she can---A girl has a period because her body has become able to release eggs and create an environment for a baby to be conceived in/grow---no matter what age.

I do know of a 10 year old who was pregnant but she couldn't have her baby because her body wasn't developed yet. So I guess it is possible but unlikely that they could actually have a baby successfully.

Biologically, it is possible to get pregnant as soon as a girl starts her period.

Yes, sure can. That doesn't mean that she is old enough mentally or that her body really SHOULD be carrying a baby. But, biologically, if she is ovulating and having a period, then yes, she can become pregnant.
