You are going to be more prone to ankle injuries now since you have injured it before, the healthy tissues that you had has now been replaced by scar tissue which is weaker. I would recomend strength training the muscles in your lower legs adn upper legs as well because it would help support your ankle more, also take adequate time for stretching which helps prevent injuries, and if you are really worried I would recomend having your athletic trainer or someone who is trained is such stuff to tape your ankle for support.

Well,if you are a runner,I would think that you would know how to deal with this.Your ankle has taken a beating, and will never really heal if you are stressing it out by running on it.Get an ankle brace or tape it really well.Baby it when you are not running on it.Ice it when you are done running, and elevate it to deep the swelling down.Consider taking up another sport that will not leave you with severe arthritis when you are in your later years. That is where you are headed.
