In terms of console game development, what is a ‘.CCZ’ file, and how is it used?

Ok, I seen this answer but I can't make sense of this from a game development point of view.

Is there anyone that can explain what it is used for?

I have done game development for a couple of years, but I don't remember seeing this extension.

What exactly were you told about it? Maybe it will ring a bell

CCZ is usually a zipped (compressed) control, command, configuration, or file manifest.
