This is mainly directed to all of you married couples out there...Please list the top three things before marriage, and, now as a married couple, what you believed and now believe to be the most important factors to a successful relationship.
Reasons why you chose them, and or possible experiences (yours and or others), which lead you to the top three, now and then, would be a great help as well!

trust, communication, appreciation. There has to be trust in a marriage for it to work, You have to communicate with each other because if you don't communicate then your spouse will never know what is bothering you or what makes you happy, couples often think their spouse is a mind reader, and then appreciation you should always let your spouse know that you appreciate everything they do so they will feel like you acknowledge what they do, as far as the before Im not sure about before because I was not sure what was important execpt for love but you learn as time goes on what is important and what is not

Top three things after marriage - his sense of humor, his honesty and still a great kisser.

My hubby and I complement each other in the way we think and values. After 26 years of marriage, I still want that kiss when he walks through the door.

Actually, they are the same before and after.
Same religion/similar ethnicity - because that guides how we lead our lives and raise children
Intelligence - gotta be able to talk to each other about something other than inane stuff
Humor/Wit - because life is NOT a bowl of cherries, it can be the pits.

Because my mother drilled that into my head. Best advice I ever got. Been married over 36 years and we have always been able to talk and work out whatever problem arose.
