Playstation 3 does offer more out off the box than Xbox 360, and the PS3 network is free to owners of the PS3.
The xbox just recently (last two months) upgraded to allow 1080 hd
the ps3 since nov. Has been 1080p hd
So as far as hd 1080 games they both have the same number of hd 1080 games.
# PS3 premium-60 gig
# Blue Ray
# True 1080p HiDef
# PSP game share
# The internal 60 gig hard drive- capable of storing Ps2 memorycard game saves, photo, movies, music etc…
# Ability to hook up external hard drives, and jump drives- and transfer music, photos, videos, etc……. Playstation 3 Solutions
# Key board and mouse abilities
# Surf anywhere on the net like any computer (PS3 Has it's own web browser)
#
# Play games- Resistance Fall of Man- Motostorm
Online game like second life out for ps3 in april.
# Play all the Ps2 (2400 games) if you have ps2
Cons-
The wifi reciever is finicky
Xbox 360 Premium-
# 20 gig hard drive
# Xbox live has fees but is great fun and has a large community
# Has awesome Great game titles and exclusives
# 1080i update available- but not blue Ray
# No web Browser for internet browsing yet but a new updated version of the xbox will be out this summer so maybe…..
You can save music etc.. to the hardrive but with only 20gig you'll want to just use the hard drive for demos and game expantion downloads.
# Xbox 360 currently has more games available and Halo 3 is soon to be released.
All offer WiFI connection to the internet but the Xbox needs the purchase of extra hardware to do so.
Wii
# The Wii is very innovative and is a riot to play. You actually get tired.
# The internet browser (once downloaded for free on the Wii beats them all for surfing the net with ease.. )
# The Wii also allows you to download old nintendo classics to play on the Wii.
# You can play gamecube games and the Wii has ports for up to four gamecube controllers and 2 gamecube memory cards.
# The Wii has it's own online community and it will soon have online gaming.
# It also has two usb ports for importing photos etc....

PS3. There are some things that needs correcting. The PS3 can go online and the online service should be better than the PS2's online service because this time around, Sony is the hub. For the PS2, each company had it's own hub, so things change from game to game with no uniform standards. This time, there should be more stability.
As for downloadable stuff, that's available for the PS3. Sony is continually adding stuff to Sony Online.
The 360 and PS3 games' prices are the same, from 49.99 to 59.99 or more for collector's edition.
Why do people keep saying that the 360 has more games? The 360 has been out a year sooner than the PS3, so it should have more games, but look at the number of games that were released in that 1 year. Not that many. It will come down to exclusives, and Sony should have more than MS.
Comparing the 360 and the PS3's graphics is faulty because they're comparing 2nd gen 360 graphics vs. PS3's 1st gen graphics. Here's the kicker. They say the 360 and PS3 graphics are the same, so think how much better the PS3's graphics is going to be 1 year from now.
The thing about the PS3 that sets it apart from the 360 is the Blu-ray. Sooner or later, games are going to get so big that DVD's are not going to be able to store all that data, so multiple DVDs will be used, which is not popular with gamers and developers. Gamers don't want to get up and change the DVD in the middle of a game, and developers don't like it because it cuts into their profit.
Sony knows what it's doing, and that's why MS is going to copy the PS3 with the Zephyr. It's black, much like the PS3. It will have HDMI output, which is something that the PS3 already has. It will have 120 gb, which is something that Sony can match or exceed because the PS3's hard drive is removable. I think the Zephyr will include HD-DVD, something that the PS3 already has (Blu-ray). The big difference is that HD-DVD is only for movies, while the PS3's Blu-ray player can be used for movies and games.
You want to talk about the price, let's see how much the Zephyr is going to cost because it's going to be similar to the PS3, so don't be surprise if it sells for 600 bucks. What we've learned from the PS3 is that people will spend 600 bucks on a console. There's already 2 million units sold and the numbers continue to rise.

I would Personally say Xbox 360, it is a gaming machine
Ps3 is a multimedia machine, but most of the world just wants something to play games, not overpriced blu-ray
Xbox 360 has 1080i graphics, Ps3 has 1080p, almost same
Xbox 360 has proven Xbox live, Ps3 has not proven their online play to be incredible
Xbox 360 has Halo, GOW, and now PlayStation developers are also developing for 360, take Guitar Hero II for example
Xbox 360 is smaller, looks sleeker, can stand up, Ps3 is huge, fingerprint magnet
Xbox 360 has better controller, who needs a little motion sense when you can get rumble, so you can fell the vibrations of chainsawing someone to death in GOW?
I think the Xbox 360 is way better, and cheaper,

the ps3 comes with a 60gb harddrive
the company that makes the harddrive . has a 120gb harddrive that can be installed in the same space.
so you can have a PS3 with a 120gb hard drive, or an Xbox 360 with a 20gb one
SHAME ABOUT THE PRICE, but i will eventually still go for the PS3
the controllers i believe are bluetooth, no additional hardware to play DVDs,
Has online games and down loadable content.
choice between wireless or wired internet connection

360 -
More games, better games.
Better Online functionality
Cheaper
Better Controller (IMO)
They have practically the same graphics. If you don't care about Blu-Ray, go 360 for sure.

xbox 360: online gaming, friends list, downloadable content(movies, arcade games, trailers,*online*demos, themes, gamer pics, content for games) wireless remotes, HD, hard drive, achievements, online chatting(voice/text).
Ps3: good graphics, to pricy, to much space on hard drive that your probably never gonna get to use all of.
