The true essence of a rose!
Written by: Wendy McBean-Munoz
November 23, 2005
21 ½ years old
Weathered like the petals of a forgotten rose,
From far away the rose is beautiful and flawless,
But get closer,
Get closer to smell the sweet essence of the rose,
And you see little cracks and tears in the petals,
Do you look for another rose?
One more perfect,
More elegant,
Or do you carefully pluck the weathered rose,
Because of its endurance,
It's strength,
It's beauty,
Sometimes you just see things from a distance,
And see the flawlessness of its design,
But when you get closer you see all the flaws,
All the cracks,
The thin lines,
Sometimes you see those flaws as strengths,
Sometimes as weaknesses,
But if after you see those flaws,
You still find what you see as beautiful,
Then you've found the most precious gift of all,
You've found the true essence of the rose,
The elegance,
And graceful beauty that lies with in!

Have you ever heard the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"?
Beauty is what you consider to be appealing. What attracts you to things, the opposite sex, or what you like to look at? When I say look at...I mean to look at with admiration and happiness, not sadness and disgust.
Everyone has different levels or standards for defining beauty. What appeals to you may not appeal to some one else.
This is why the saying "there is someone for everyone" is so true. Society has made appearance a high standard when it comes to beauty for example ugly, okay, pretty, handsome, and gorgeous. But if one believes the saying what one may perceive as ugly may be attractive to another.
I think there should not be so much emphasis on beauty and more on intelligence, companionship, personality, and togetherness.
MAYBE.....................JUST LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it also comes in many different forms.
Personally, I think true beauty is internal because it doesnt matter how beautiful one is to the world.........if they dont have
a good heart then they will NEVER BE TRULY BEAUTIFUL
and NO, I'm not ugly. I was blessed with good looks and a good heart (not that I'm beautiful) like I said......beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Think about it........we have all see those women who when you look at them you think "oh my gosh she is gorgeous" and then you meet them and see what a witch w/ a b she is...
so much that you DEFINITELY dont want to be her friend
and then you KNOW that the only reason she has a man is because of her external beauty........therefore, my conclusion that TRUE BEAUTY IS INTERNAL AND ETERNAL!!!

It is not what you see, touch , smell, taste and hear, although it is One sense, including all mentioned above and , perhaps many more unknown...Perception of a Beauty is a key. Sense of Beauty, awe, breath taking feeling of a Sense bigger than anything imaginable, that which represents Beauty for its perceiver = Beholder. It had been said that Beauty is in eyes of Beholder...it is True.Beholder makes things Beautiful for itself. Bless ones whom carrying that Sense.

So many beauties in this appealing world
beauty lies in the beholder's eyes
beauty in a friend's affection and in a tender heart
beauty in a pretty smile and caring eyes
beauty in the flaky slow and a pleasant spring
beauty in the milky moon and the graceful rivers
beauty in a hard earned victory and a hopeful soul
So many beauties in this spectacular world and its dazzling life
And the true beauty lies in the beholder's eyes
~Kavitha
that pretty much explains it...

Quote:
Beauty consists of an eternal, invariable element, whose quantity is excessively difficult to determine, and of a relative, circumstantial element, which will be, if you like, by turns or all together, the era, its fashion, its morals, its passions.
Quote:
There are as many kinds of beauty as there are habitual ways of seeking happiness.
Quote:
All beauties contain, like all possible phenomena, something eternal and something transitory,—something absolute and something particular. Absolute and eternal beauty does not exist, or rather it is only an abstraction skimmed from the common surface of different sorts of beauty. The particular element of each beauty comes from the emotions, and as we each have our own particular emotions, so we have our beauty.

Beauty is as beauty does.
I really believe that.
You can take a physically beautiful person with an ugly spirit and what you get is a very unattractive individual.
