My 16 year old daughter is a dancer and has been in dance competitions, been to John Robert Powers training, and has a great out going personality. She just got a call from a casting director that wants her to appear in a commercial, my problem is this casting job is in another state. i would never send her alone, but how safe is it to allow her to even get involved into the entertainment business without proper representation.

We all know that children and teenagers appear in commercials sometimes. I wound't assume that it ruins the rest of their lives for all of them. I agree with you that there is a concern, but I wouldn't immediately dismiss this opportunity as unsafe. I'd say, learn as much as possible about it before you make your decision - you will have a better judgement about how safe it is. If you have to say no at the end, it will be easier for your daugther to accept your decision if you do your research rather than just dismissing it alltogether.
