Yeah, switch around the government payroll. Pay the teachers what senators and representatives are paid, along with the congressional benefit package. Let members of congress be paid what teachers currently make. Teachers' jobs are way more valuable, and they should be paid accordingly.

Sure is, privatize the education system. The gov't basically has a monopoly on schooling, and a monopoly will always perform poorly. Competition needs to be introduced into the system. In the Netherlands, each student recieves a voucher worth however much $$$, and whatever school the student chooses can cash in the voucher. That's one step, but it would be better if all schools were private. Companies could pay the best teachers the most money, some schools may choose other forms of compensation. Basically we need a market.

Sure, if more money would actually go to fund education instead of wars. If the money was there for training the right teachers and enticing college students away from other careers with special tax breaks, benefits, and larger salaries then people would actually want to continue on the path of being teachers. Instead, poorly paid teachers are buying supplies for their large classes, living paycheck to paycheck to make rent, and being overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do to teach a growing number of students things they should have learned years ago.

Teachers must be given more benefits because they are educating the youth which is the future of the country. A bad pay for the teachers means a horrendous future.

Yes, deport all of the illegals and use the extra money to pay the teachers and reduce the class sizes.
