Personally, I am fine with whatever brand my clothes are. Maybe it is because I am not rich enough to go pay $40 to $50 on one freakin pair of pants, but I wear whatever looks good. I don't see why everyone wants to walk around with Hollister, Abercrombie, or American Eagle and stuff. It is just stupid! But, yea that is how things are so you either have to jump on the BandWagon or be an individual.

Our society puts that upon us. Musicians and others popular in the media wear them and people want to be just like those that they idolize. I personally do not put a designer logo on my chest - since they are not paying me to advertise - why should I advertise for them. Other times it shows the quality of a brand. I will say that I only wear levi jeans because the quality is high, and they fit well. I also only wear nike shoes because of how they are made - never see the glue drips on a pair of nikes - but I am thrifty and only buy the ones on the clearance rack at the outlet stores. I also only buy Ikea furniture because I know it is also well made - as apposed to Rooms to go which is pretty shoddy in my book. Old Navy also has pretty high quality clothes and reasonable prices.

I know. I am thirteen i think it is silly too. I don't care what brand I buy. I bought stuff from walmart that was really cute and everyone liked it. I have a couple brand name things but i could care less anyways. People should relize that just because something has a brnd name on it, it doesn't make it any better.

Some people here are right. As for me, I don't buy expensive brand stuff, for number of reasons, first of all, have you seen the brand clothes? There are plenty of stuff, from brands, that look sooo ugly and have suuuch a cheap look that you wouldn't believe that this is branded. Second, when I see this stuff, I don't believe they worth that much money. And I would never buy this stuff for so much.
For me a simple looking polo shirt, is still just a polo shirt, even though it has a Lacoste logo embroidered on it. And I would never buy it for whatever the usual price of it is.
I of course would buy branded things if:
1)They would be my size and fit me.
2)They would be cute.
and
3)They would cost not too much.

The most of my branded clothes, I buy in a special overstock shops.

Because, that's how name brand designers make their money, so they make sure to encourage label snobbery among the right people. And then all the lemmings whose opinions are formed by copying all the popular, glamor celebs out there just haaaave to buy whatever they are told to buy.

The more I think about it, the more I should consider a career in designer label clothing and accessory sales. It sounds like a ridiculously easy way to swindle money out of the rich and stupid.

i think people show off way to much about brand names i think they just do it to show they have the money but most times UN brand named clothing looks much better than prada and all that and of course remember it has a very big price tag and get you into debt i would rather have money in the bank and my un designer clothes then having designer clothes and being made bankrupt

Well, because they are... a lot of designer labels are hand made... and ensuring that it'll last a long time. A lot longer than say Wal-Mart. So, you're getting what you pay for. Almost... the designer labels are SERIOUSLY over priced. Paying $800 for a pair of jimmychoos is ridiculous... BUT they will last longer than say a pair of pumps from payless.

By the way... I shop Wal-Mart allllll the wayyyyy. :P

Well, I dont necessarily like the brand or designer lables. But some are just better quality and like they say you get what you pay for. I buy cheap purses and they usually fall apart easily where as designer purses that I have last forever.. I am not materialistic, I just want something that will last me and I wont have to keep going back to the store to buy another one.

what's yada yada, a NEW designer? i think people think designer labels are the best is because they want to show that they are wealthy and what to be respected b/c they have one. OR they feel like they think they desive the best of things. or maybe even their nature is like that.

I agree with you a lot, and I like the way you think. Brand names are nothing but status quo's, and especially in foreign countries were anything with an American label is considered high status.
