There are many studies on animal intelligence, especially with dolphins. But being smart like humans has not yet been proven. We can speak; they can communicate through echolocation, clicks and whistles.
One of my favorite studies on dolphin intelligence is self-awareness. Self-awareness is the ability to see oneself in the mirror and realize it's you (hence the name). Chimpanzees also have been proven to be self-aware.

A friend of mine went on her honeymoon to Mexico and had the oppertunity of swimming with a pod of wild dolphins that regularilly visited a cove. She couldnt swim and was the only one in the group that was wearing a big orange life jacket. When the dolphins saw her, one of them grabbed a strap on the jacket and swam 5metres underwater and let her go..... the other dolphins then watched her shoot upwards like a rocket and burst panicking out of the sea!!!! they seemed to be laughing.

i think they are smarter
they dont need clothes
are their own transport
can find fish by sonar
and comunicate on high frequency sounds
they can kill a shark easy
and dance on their tails on the water ,(almost like Jesus)
and people that work with Dolphins are conviced they can read minds
they know the tricks you are thinking before you give the commands
and like Orcas they can see in 4 dimensions
we can see only 3% of 3
Can you do any of those things ???
are you that smart to stay the hell away from civilization and play around in the wilds ???

Dolphin Intelligence
Experiments have been conducted to see if bottle-nose dolphins are self-aware. In scientific terms, self-awareness is observing an animal's reaction to its mirror image. If the animal is able to realize that the image is of itself, then it is said to be self-aware. What this means is that the experiments have proven that bottle-nose dolphins are indeed self-aware, however, they are NOT certain if they are intelligent.
Most researchers agree that bottle-nose dolphins exhibit a level of intelligence greater than that of a dog and even comparable to that of some primates--but NOT humans.

I'd venture to say they are in fact far smarter. Humans are fairly arrogant in their belief that animals are not as smart as humans based solely on the fact that an animal is physically incapable of human speech. Now that is stupid and narrow minded, don't cha think?

Smart like humans? You mean they start wars, take drugs, oppress each other, have bad diets, pollute their environment?
No, they are not smart like us. They are just lucky, I suppose.

They are VERY smart, but by our standards, they are still simply trainable marine mammals.
