Since Kingdom Heart I was just released as a greatest hit, that would would be easy to get. I don't know if Kingdom Hearts II is available in stores anymore so you'll have to get it at EB games (used). The is another kingdom hearts for the gameboy advance if you REALLY want to get int the Series of games, however, most people I know didn't play or know about that one.
Games in order:
KH I (PS2)
KH: Chain of Memories (GBA)
KH II (PS2)
OR if you dont want to play it, go to Youtube and type in Kingdom Hearts Speed Run and click on it but they are usually like 50 parts and take a few hours to watch them all so I don't recommend that.

You can find it for like $20 at Target now and if you have a GameBoy, the KH:Chain of Memories is like $20 too. KH2 is a little more expensive and if you look in the right places, you can find it for aorund $30-40.
And if you don't want to buy it, there's always Blockbuster!

Just tell them you had tried it , not really seriously played it but you would like to. If you dont have money to buy it ask if you can borrow it. Otherwise, I believe Walmart carries it still, so do most used game stores, EB games is good if you have one there. K Mart also carries it.

If you want to pull it off that you played it, just know the main characters, basic game strategies and some of the bosses, and be like, "Geez, those Heartless are annoying when you're trying to whack them and they keep moving." Or something. At least know who Sora, Riku, and Kairi are. At least.
