whats a good reason to work as a store clerk?

i never been a store clerk but just curious to know whats the advantanges and disadvatages of this type of job

Advantage: discount on merchandise
Disadvantage: boring environment, rude customers. No training for whatever you want to be in life.

Advantage: Store discount, free stuff sometimes, felxible hours.
Disadvantage; Ignorant and rude customers who have no respect.
