I had one on my wrist like that. When my hand was straight, you didn't feel the bump, but when I bent my wrist you could feel the bump and see it.

I went to a orthopedic doctor and he removed it. Well, the cyst never came back, but scar tissue developed in the area.

I ended up with the same restrictive movement in my wrist. I wouldn't do it again if I had another one pop up. It was a waste of time!

If it's bothering you, you're really better off making an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon - preferably a hand specialist.
I had what I thought was a ganglion cyst for several years, even had it ruptured by an orthopedic surgeon twice, but it came back. Ends up, when I went to a hand specialist, is wasn't a cyst at all, but a condition called DeQuervain's Tendonitis.
It should have been a very simple operation to repair, but I had nursed it along for so long, I had some tendon damage and was out for almost 3 months following surgery (mind you, I'm a paramedic/firefighter, so couldn't go back to work until I was 100%).

What you probably have is a gaingling (msp) cyst. You can hit it with a book, but expect severe pain. The cyst will go away but beware it may come back. My husband had one and slammed his wrist on a board, it went away, but about 6 months later it returned. The only way to get rid of it forever is to have surgery on it.

That is what they used to do way back when. Some of these cysts will bust on their own. Some have a lot of gristle in them and tentacles that grip around nerves in your wrist. You should go see your family physician and have him/her refer you to the correct doctor.

Why would you want to burst it? Go see a physician who deals with these things...Good Luck!

Put toothpaste on it tonight and it will knock it on down to nothing.
Rub babyoil or olive oil on it tomorrow.
