look in the yellow pages and look under family law. they r the ones that would be dealing in cases like that. good luck. sorry that u know someone that needs that kind of help.

try any lawyers, police. Cops in most states will not press charges unless the abused person wants to. They may know of some safe houses to take victims too-even if kids are involved. Homeless shelter if she wants to leave. Make sure the abused party has a plan of leaving. (packed suitcase in good hiding spot, etc.)
Please don't wait. Act now. The problem won't go away.
Trust me. Its worth it to leave and much harder thinking about leaving.
