Bullying you? Who is bullying you? Paying taxes on a piece of crap that isn't even worth taking on a soft shoulder let alone on a fire trail is bullying? My gawd do you need a reality check lady!

I have a beautiful Defender and I love the baby, and the day they put a bus stop within half a mile of my house (in the middle of nowhere) then I'm sure I will use it but until then I will keep on chugging through the country lanes in my chosen transport.
Well actually I just want to take my car and leave the country - I can't afford £400 a year for it!

The hike in tax on 4 x 4's is a joke.
I do not own one, nor a sports car but some people want to take all the pleasures away from ordinary people.
These do gooders on here want to think a bit more & remember all the devious things that all politicians & councilors have done to us over many years.
Tony Blair on a prime ministers pay buying a £5m house hes a F*****G thief & its our money.
This government is stuffing us all.
We are overtaxed & the green house crap is another way of taking our money & what we do in changing light bulbs etc will do nothing but ministers will earn a load of money out of this law that they will force upon us.
They have already bought shares in light bulb manufacturers.
We are such a small country & we aint going to alter anything on our planet.
Blair & his cronies are money grabing SH**S & 4 times as nasty & Cameron is the same making a speech on taxing our holidays they are all money grabbing scare mongering bas***ds.
The illegal war in Iraq has done more damage than all the 4 x 4 cars & sports cars in the world.
Trees should be replanted in Brazil & the far east that will do a load more good than tearing down the rainforests

The hike in tax is unjustified but I am still for anything that encourages you to drive a sensible car that doesn't, you know, guarantee at least one death in the event of an accident.
As for your 'do-gooder' comments, I fail to see how being a 'do-gooder' could possibly be a bad thing, so you can stuff yourself.

Did someone bully you into it?
Did you HAVE to buy a polluting "car" or did you just HAVE to look good on the school run?
If you have a genuine need i.e. for work or where you live, you'll find the money and start looking for a more environmentally responsible alternative.
If not, stop bleating about it and get something cheaper to run.
No-one, except farmers and people living/working in remote areas NEEDS a 4x4 so grow up and put the toys back in the pram.

Once again someone tries to exclude us *common* folk from answering a question on a public website. Answers is open to all! Am sure a rich person like you would have no problem paying the extra tax ! Reported for discrimination

Those that the government want to tax, they first make unpopular. I agree with you. I don't think that humankind are causing global warming, that's if it exists at all. Greenies, have a misplaced paternal/maternal instinct. They need to get a life, have some kids, and then they would find that they didn't have time to worry about the earth, which incidentally, has been looking after itself for several billion years.

The governments answer would be that your 4x4 generates more emmission than a non-4x4. I do think that it is a bit unfair to penalise 4x4 owners this way as I would like to know where that extra money will go, no doubt squandered like all the rest. I'm afraid you have been bitten by a stealth tax darling.

What tax are you talking about? Maybe you should kindly ask a do-gooder to teach you to write clearly.
