I think this is a topic that no one talks about or understands and I would be interested in some intelligent insight you may have gained from it.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and consideration.

i thought it was hard for someone to adopt because the mother could change her mind.
apparently the women on this site were not given the chance to change their mind.

It is very heartwrenching to think about young women being pressured & forced to give up their children at birth but it is a fact of life that has been happening forever. Raised as a Catholic, In the 50's & 60's, I personally saw it happen several times . I attended an all girls Catholic High School & know of 3 girls in my class who became preganant & were spirited away to have their babies. They came back to school afterwards, acting as if they had been on a vacation. But those of us close to them, knew the truth & the anguish these girls were put through. They were told it would be a disgrace to their family & the church for them to keep these babies. One of the girls tried to commit suicide, because she felt so desperate. After this happened, her family moved & we never heard form her again. These so called caring adults, made these young girls feel like they were trash & guilt tripped them into doing something they did not want to do. It's no wonder so many women have low self esteem & go through life carrying guilt & pain that will never go away.

We tend to forget that things like this happen everyday, even in America. It is so sad. The people that do this may get by for now, but they won't get away......

I learned that you're telling society that there is now something wrong with my children who have been adopted. You believe that my children are not whole, unhappy, and will never live a fulfilling life.

I also learned that you are ignorant.

You should be ashamed of yourself, for only putting the negative side of adoption out there for people to see. What about all the good stories there are about adoption? Why are you so against it?
