I'd come down occasionally for certain things because unlike a bird, I don't think I'd want to poop while I'm up in the air. I would need to sleep too...and stop places to eat every once in a while.

Yeah. If I could fly like a bird, I would visit different cultures around the world. B/c I'd want to have a more in depth knowledge of these cultures, I'd want to land to interact with the natives.
