Birth control will not harm your baby, taken in normal amounts!Even the morning after pill will not terminate a pregnancy that has already implanted.
I got pregnant on the pill, and I took the pill until I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks, and I'm now 13 weeks and the doctor says everything is fine. I did A LOT of research because I was concerned for my baby's life and safety, and I have found no actual medical records that present-day birth control pills harmed any unborn babies. In fact, all the studies showed that babies whose mothers took birth control while pregnant had the same percentage of defects as babies whose mothers did not take birth control...basically meaning it does not increase risk of birth defects or miscarriage.
It CAN lead to very early miscarriage if the embryo hasn't even implanted yet and the pills cause you to start your period before it has the chance to implant, but you wouldn't even know you're pregnant yet since you don't start making pregnancy hormones until after implantation...so there's no medical documentation of this, either, they just say it's "possible".
Don't listen to the people who are telling you your baby will be retarded or deformed. This simply is not true and they're trying to scare you. I know so many babies that were conceived on birth control (my cousin, my nephew, my best friend's baby)...and they're ALL fine.
There's only a 1% chance you are pregnant if you were taking it properly, but the low amount of hormones even in the strongest pills these days DO NOT cause birth defects or death to the fetus. Good luck in whatever happens!

I was in that exact position. I was on birth control to prevent pregnancy, and guess what? Ended up pregnant. I had NO signs or symptoms in early pregnancy, didn't even notice the missed period as I'd continued taking the active pills to 'skip' my period for the past couple months. I only found out (at about 6 weeks preg) when I was injured at work and sent to the med center. My son was born (and still is) exceptionally healthy, and in fact at two years old, he's only been sick twice, and recovered both times much more quickly then either me or his father did. I had complications in the pregnancy, and went into premature labor a few times, which led to medication and bed rest in order to continue the pregnancy to full term, and even had complications during the labor which resulted in an emergency C-section, but it's doubtful that it had anything to do with the fact that I was on birth control early in my pregnancy (though maybe it did, I can't say for sure).
From what I know of low dose birth control, it's supposed to be about as effective as regular birth control. Talk with your doctor about the situation and the risks, and take an early pregnancy test if you're really worried. Good luck.

Yes the baby would survive unless you took it practically the whole nine months which wouldn't happen because it would be obvious after a couple of months that you were pregnant. You have nothing to worry about. I'm not an expert but it usually says somthing about it on your birth controll pill packet. I'm on a high dose and I know it say it wouldn't effect the baby if I got pregnant so I'm assumming that a low dose def wouldn't affected it. Good luck hun I hope this helps!

I got the depo shot the day after I had my first baby. I bled for 7 months straight, even without getting the shot 3 mths later. I tried the pill and I would have a 2 week long period then stop for 2 weeks, and then bleed for another 2 weeks. I have given up on birth control, other than natural family planning. There are always condoms. They have worked for me for the past 6 years.

I got pregnant on birth control and I was told, that low dose birth control doesn't harm the baby, if you stop taking it once you find out. My baby boy is two months now and perfectly fine :)

Well, if you THINK you're pregnant, I'd stop taking the pill until I knew for certain, just for caution's sake. Use another form such as a condom, until you're sure. You don't want to be pregnant and CAUSE a birth defect.
Honey...if birth control pills caused miscarriage, there wouldn't be a morning after pill. Best case scenario...it won't harm the fetus. Worst case...it will cause major damage to the fetus. I wouldn't take the chance.

Here are some things you should know. 1) birth control pills are only 99% effective, this means that 1 out of every 100 women taking them gets pregnant anyway.
2) you may harm or deform the fetus if you continue to take them after discovering you are pregnant
3) only condoms effectively 100% prevent pregnancy and disease, and thats only if they don't break.

most likely the baby will survive, but it will have some mental disorders. most of the time when a baby is concived while taking birth control, the baby is born mentally retarted. so as soon as you find out if you are or not, discontinue the use of the pill or go about what other route you want to take.

To that guy up there that was rude, ignore him. I am on bc also, to regulate my period and the dr told me not to get off yet. If u get preg on the bc ur baby can be just fine, but u should get off of it right away when ur pregnant, just incase. Somewomen may not know they arepreg yet, because bc can sometimes make u bleedstill making u think its a period.

It's possible the drugs might harm the baby - they wouldn't do it good. They might not kill the baby or terminate the pregnancy, but they might do the young embryo harm so that it doesn't develope right.
