Hey! I was in the same rut as you up until about two years ago... Then I learned how to juggle!!! Juggling is a really rewarding pastime and it's not just for hippies (in fact I know more engineering and science graduates who juggle than anyone else). It's a great way to build-up hand-eye coordination, reflexes, ambidexterity, It's a form of cardio-vascular exercise (15 mins of juggling = 30 mins of jogging)! It's also the most fun I've ever had. Conventions are held everywhere in the world regularly and these are great weekends to just make friends from all over the world. It's an easy way to make money from busking as everyone gets sick of horrible guitarists singing Breakfast at Tiffany's at them and really love watching someone do something interesting!

You don't have to take juggling too seriously either. Take it at you're own pace. Learning 3 balls can take anywhere from a few hours to a week. There's loads of great info and lessons on the source below as well as a really great list of juggling clubs all over the world so check if there's one near you.

And the best thing about juggling???

You never run out of things to learn so you'll never have to find a new hobby!!!

I highly recommend martial arts. Promotion through the belt levels is tangible evidence of your progress and will encourage you to stick with it. The physical training is great and the mental discipline can't be beat. Visit a couple of schools and observe some classes to find the martial art style and school that suit you. None are "better" than others. Certain martial arts and schools are better for different ages, personalities, and body types. Any good master should allow you to observe a class and perhaps take one free class. Don't sign any contracts or enroll in a school where the fees increase as your progress through the ranks. Make sure the master is affiliated with a legitimate martial arts organization. I enrolled in martial arts 9.5 years ago and haven't regretted a minute of it. Contact me if you need more info.

Depends on where you live. I am from Florida. I have been sailing my whole life. It is incredible. That is easy to get into if you are around water. There are marinas and sailors are always willing to bring another along.

The other hobby I have is exercising. Not just at the gym. I spend a lot of time in parks with my Dog, walking around downtown etc... I love being outside.

Sitting at the computer is not a hobby. Hahaha. I know I have to force myself away from it. I think you just have to try different things to see what you like. Be open and try new experiences! Have fun!

I would say get into music.
It is one of the most rewarding and beautiful hobbies one could pick up, at least in my opinion! (and many others) Just join your band at school, start taking lessons, or heck! start teaching yourself (Im trying to do this as we speak with the violin!--LOL its been a dream ofmine forever and its so fun to actually work towards doing it! :) )

Its very rewarding to actually play a part in making beauty..but hey! dont stop with music!!!
PHOTOGRAPHY is also another very fun way to be creative and make art, and usually all it requires is a good eye, and the ability to push a button! I would advise b&w photography though because its also ALOT of fun to develop your own photos!
If youre near a local high school they usually have summer classes, or if youre IN high school or college take advantage of photo club and/or classes!

YAY FOR ART! =)

I really like working with wool; spinning, weaving, and knitting. It feels great to finish a project, you get a real sense of accomplishment; it is slow and relaxing; it allows you to be creative, and, you meet a lot of people who have a lot in common with you, especially when you end up watching a sheep or alpaca get sheared at a farm somewhere to provide yarn for you to craft into something gorgeous. If you really get into it, you can earn money for it, but for me it is strictly a hobby.

Try taking some stained glass lesson, it's fun. Lots of community colleges and even local school boards offer evening classes for this sort of thing and the pieces that You can make are really cool. I like it and it didn't cost much or take long to learn. Good luck.

What interests you? Hobbies have wide ranges from things to do at home to things to do outdoors. Just put a list of the things you like together and then figure out the hobby that would best fit it.

Try beading. It's relatively inexpensive to start and you can make things fairly quickly. Nothing's permanent, you can just unstring what you don't like and start over. You can make something in as little as an hour sometimes and can have unique jewelry to match your outfits or to give as gifts. There are bead stores everywhere and you can find countless books at any bookstore.

Volunteer! maybe an animal shelter, help line, local non-profit, political organization, church, tutoring, or think of another issue you care about and goole local orgs that work with that issue and contact them.

if you help others, you're gauranteed to come home happy with yourself after a busy day. :)
