I want to see what you all think: I am now 9 days late on my period, and I have taken 2 HPTs, both have come out negative. I have noticed that I have been REALLY tired lately, I can hardly get out of bed most days. I have started a new yoga program, but usually if I am more active, my period is only late by 4 days. I have had slight pains in my lower abdomen, but they are nothing like PMS cramps. Is it possible to not have any symptoms? Could I be pregnant? I would appreciate ANY help! Thanks so much!

Hi,

I had pains in my abdoman when i found out i was pregnant. For me they were like menstrual craps, so i just thought my period was late!

Being tired is a sign that you may be pregnant also. In your first 3 months we all get tired then it gradually disappears.

With the test, it took me around 5.5 weeks for it to show. The best thing would be is take a blood test . This should show up.

Good luck

Carla

If you have taken the test within the last day or two, then I would believe you are not pregnant and something else is causing your late period. Make sure you are using your first urine in the morning for the pregnancy test and make sure you are reading it in good lighting. Even a faint line read within the time limits is a positive. If you are still getting a negative, then you should see your doctor to rule out any other problems.

If they tests both came out negative I would wait a week and retest. But be careful about the abdominal pains. I had just found out that i was pregnant and started having pains. When they got unbearable I went to the ER and found out it was an etopic(tubal) pregnancy and I had to have surgery to remove left ovary and tube. If the pains get worse go to the doc immediately!!!

Could you be pregnant? Sure.

You could also be doing a myriad of other things. You just started a new exercise program--that's a great way to push your period off.

Have you been stressed? Also, pains in your lower abdomen could mean everything from food poisoning to a miscarriage.

Go to your doctor, or to a walk in clinic and get a blood test. That one is the most accurate.
Good luck.

It is possible. You should see your doctor. Their tests are always more accurate than a hpt. Good luck!
