if you are asking this question then you definitly are not in the military. first of all they do fight with the men, they are just not allowed to be in the infantry or orther "combat arms" units. that does not mean they don't see combat on a regular basis over there. back in the day when wars were fought with brut strenth men were better suited for that line of work, the rifle changed that. a 100 pound female with the figure of a toothpick, and with the correct training, can reach out and touch someone from over a mile away. muscles has nothing to do with it anymore, it is all about love for country, self, and your brothers and sisters in arms. enjoy.

They should not. For the same reason that men commit most violent acts in the world and kill at a rate that far exceeds what women can even intimate. This is a statistical analysis, as some women could possible be warriors, but some 12 years olds could possible be drivers, or drinkers. We ban those 12 year olds on a statistical analysis that says the most can not drive or drink responsible. Most women would make terrible combat infantry. Even in modern war, combat infantry does the " heavy work ".

PS And I do not want to here about the Israeli Army and women in combat. Even in the '48 war, women were not assinged to combat infantry.

Women should be allowed to fight. The problem is that they have to meet easier standards to qualify (any women who claims this is false is simply wrong; ask any male combatant and/or look on any website listing physical requirements). This "feminization" of the Army is a major problem. There should be no double standards when it comes to a person's life; but the radical liberals and feminists believe the women's agenda should be pushed at the expense of men's lives.

This issue is very simple: Men are generally better combat soldiers; they are stronger and more physically aggressive and more prone to violence, which in a war, is an attribute.

Are there some women who can do the job--absolutely. But the fact that they make it easier for women to qualify than men is dangerous, and is emblamatic of the problems in our society today.

Why SHOULDN'T women be involved in combat? If they choose the military as their career, and are physically and mentally fit for it (which are the same criteria for men), they should go for it.

Personally, I have no desire to join the military. I don't follow orders well, and I have a problem with the current administration's war in Iraqistan.

We keep getting questions like, "Why shouldn't women get drafted?" and "why should women beable to be involved in combat?" Y'all can't have it both ways.

I think anyone should be able to join the military voluntarily, but no one should be conscripted.

People keep saying that not drafting women is sexist against men. It's not. It may BENEFIT women, and be to the DETRIMENT of men, but it's still sexist towards women. It's a prohibition based on the stereotype that women are helpless, weak, and nonviolent.

They get the same pay and benefits and take the same oath as the males and they fully compete for every promotion.

They have a moral obligation to be put in harms way, ordered to certain death, get their asses and legs shot off, captured, tortured, and raped just like the men do.

Welcome to equality honey. In my Army women would NOT be hanging out behind the lines driving trucks. They would be on the line and if they are not dieing it's because they are the masters of doing the killing.--that is what war is all about

IF there were a draft, it would only be fair that both men and women be sent to war. If there were NOT a draft, I do not see why women (or men, actually) should really sign up in the first place. If that is their prerogative, they can go ahead, of course. I would just like to see equal standards for entry into all fields, the military included.

I think the more important question here is Why Not??

Where is the issue that women cannot fight alongside men in wars? Women are able to fight just as well as men are. Who decides whether they can fight or not?

and for those that think they are funny by posting childish insults regarding women... get a life.

Although I believe in the rights of women etc, I agree with the reasons proposed on here, such as them being a distraction and rape. I think go ahead and learn combat and martial arts etc but probably not the best option to be in a real war.

if the physical requirements are set at a very high level, then those who can meet it should be allowed in. If the level is lowered to accommodate either men or women, then no.

the military should not be used for social engineering.
