I am 35 weeks pregnant. My daughter dropped at 31 weeks. I have been having contractons for a week now. That's when they told me I am starting to dilate already. Is there anyway of knowing when she will be born? The doctors say most likely in the next 3 weeks, since I am progressing quiet fast. I just want to know if maybe it could be sooner?

you can go into labor today--or after your due date. it just depends on when baby is ready to come out.
I was 1-2 dialated for a couple weeks.

With my first child I walked around for three weeks dilated 3. My second I went to a regular dr appointment and was dilated 7 and had not even felt a contraction! I had my son less then an hour later. Labor is unpredictable. You could have her tommorrow or maybe not for a few weeks. you just can't tell. Sorry but Good luck

With my last child, I was at 1 from 28 weeks and 2 at 32 weeks. I didnt have him until 36 weeks. They can do something you may hear called a fetal fibronectin test. It can tell you if you are likely to go into labor in the next two weeks. I took one every 10 days up until right before I delivered to help them get a feel for what is going on.

I hate it when people don't read the full question before answering.

You could still be weeks away. I've heard that second deliveries are usually quicker than the first but there's really no way to tell. You start dialating well before the day the baby is ready to pop out completely.

I was dialated for almost two weeks before I went into labor.

Good luck!

Maybe tomorrow, maybe not for over a month. I walked around dilated 3 for 3 weeks before being induced.

Is this your first?

This could take a while. Chances are you could be 1 cm dialted for weeks!!

There's no real way of knowing when she'll be born. First children take a LONG time to deliver, so sit tight.
