If I go into "The Sims" it shows lots of black boxes. What do I do? Here is the picture: http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/30/148417/squares.bmp

By the way I have a ATI Xpress 200 video card with the latest Catalyst software and driver.

O.K. thanks for the answers, but my video card's allocation is already 64 and the resolution is 800x600, it works fine, but slow on 1024x768, that is why I want to run it on 800x600. My older computer ran it fine.

My card isn't broken. I've checked everything works, but "The Sims" in 800x600.

Dude after seeing the clip i could understand what was the problem . Your Graphics Card i able to draw the picture but not able to shade the pixel . I think it is time for you to shift from your GPU . Try a ATi X1650 Pro 512 MB for a medium end PC.

Try running the Sims in a different resolution (slightly lower).

This looks like memory corruption, as if your game is using more video memory than the computer has. Xpress200, a built-in card, maxes out at 64MB, I think (I have the same one, really) and you can change that in the BIOS. If it doesn't happen at lower resolution, try going into BIOS and increase video allocation to 64MB.

It'd also help if you download the latest MEMTEST, and run that on your PC for a couple hours / days to make sure your memory haven't developed any bad spots. You can search for that. It's free and quite popular.

Hi.
In the upper left corner you see the actions your Sim is doing . In this case im unsure what hes doing but you can roll your mouse cursor over the icons and it will give you a description of what hes doing.
And BTW your graphic card aint helping you at all.

i looked at the picture... it looks to me like your video card is broken... but you don't complain about seeing that misplaced video in windows... so maybe not.... ati xpress 200 is pretty old....

try investing in a new card.
