Definitely go to the Anne Frank Huis it's amazing. Also check out Dam Square just tons of good people watching. At least walk through the Red Light District it's just so bizarre. Go to Van Gogh Museum. Walk through the flower market. Take a canal boat cruise - kinda turisty but worth it. Go to Vondel Park its a truly beautiful park. Have a rijistafel (sp?) it's rice table in English and incredibly good. Also just walk around it is truly one of the most beautiful, laid back cities I have ever been to in my life. Enjoy!!

I love Amsterdam! I am a museum nut so I would suggest you hit the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. The park near the Van Gogh museum is nice to sit and watch people and eat a sack lunch. I enjoyed walking through the flower markets early in the morning and the flea market was fun! I think everyone should go to the Anne Frank House. If I was to ever go in the spring, I would have to go to Keukenhof to see the tulips!

There is a Van Gogh museum there. Never been there but my friends have. I know you want serious answers but it wouldn't kill you to check out a "coffee shop".
