The Fray was actually once a Christian band, but were not getting any success and the band members weren't really feeling like that was what they were supposed to be doing.
How To Save A Life is about a teen Isaac Slade, the lead singer, mentored at a church camp who was over his head in drugs and alcohol. He told Isaac that he only wanted someone to come along side him as a friend to help him solve his problem, instead of as an enemy with a change-or-I-won't-talk-to-you-... attitude, which he never really got. Isaac wrote the song about what the kid really wanted and how Isaac would want someone to approach him if he were doing something wrong. It is told from the point of view of one of those people with the negative attitude and them realizing their mistakes after he's gone in the chorus, but the verses are told from the addict's point of view.
The name of the song comes from a sign at a swimming pool that Isaac saw with directions on CPR titled . . . How To Save A Life.
The last I heard, the kid was still alive though . . . and Isaac had just recently talked to him

I dont know if it is or isnt , but as for the previous comment of why pick things apart i say this . It is vital that we do its what keeps music on a high standard as human beings it is vital that we analize everything . Music is art and just as a painting is taken in and examined so should all the elements of a song.

I'm now not utterly certain. I realize Shinedown makes a music referred to as "Save Me" however the one singer within the band is Brent Smith (male). Also, Alter Bridge (male singer simplest) has a music referred to as "Save Me". Lacuna Coil (additionally with a feminine singer) has a music referred to as "Veins of Glass" however I believe they simply sing "store me" like a few times.

The song is about a boy that the lead singer used to act as a counselor towards.
He had a drug addiction, and this song is about some of his conversations with the boy.

Technically almost any song can be considered "Christian". Evanescence is a secular band but their lyrics imply christian morals.
The same goes for The Fray's song. It has christian morals, but it is not labelled a "Christian Song"
