Oh my, I LOVE Eugene! (As anyone who reads my answers here knows, lol!!) I lived in the Eugene area for 25 years, and only moved because I needed to in order to be with my hubby. My kids and grandkids still live in Eugene.
Yes, it rains in the winter and spring. But it's also very green, lots of flowers, and you just learn to cope with it, and do indoor activities, take advantage of sun breaks, and dress for the weather when you want to do things regardless of the rain.
Taxes are lower in Oregon, no sales tax either, vehicles registration is lower, and personally I think the quality of life is higher. There is less to do of a commercial nature, but a whole lot more to do in close proximity of outdoors activities.

Oregon is a great state. I lived there all my life until three years ago. I now live in England and I am a little home sick.
OK. Eugene is my least favorite place in Oregon. Salem is my second least favorite place. I attended the U of O and all I can remember is rain, rain, rain. Yes, it rains in other parts of Oregon but not as much as in Eugene. If someone told me they would give me $1,000,000 if I moved to Eugene and stayed there the rest of my life, I would have to think about it.

BSU has a solid soccer team and it will proceed to get extra effective each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Zabransky has relatively shown his skills this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. He throws remarkably properly on the run is and deadly rapid....i does not be shocked to work out Ian Johnson win a Heisman trophy his senior 3 hundred and sixty 5 days (for those of you rolling your eyes, you for sure did not see the way he dragged 2 or 3 %10 linebackers up the sphere time and time back) Many will say that BSU is over-rated and that they don't deserve the scores consistent with their time table...i think of their score although is precise..particularly based on the Utah and Oregon State victories. the nice and cozy button is this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days's Bronco's are a large team...If the interest replaced into at abode, they might beat all yet possibly the precise 5 communities....with a bit of luck they might win the Fiesta Bowl might desire to they make it and finally quiet the nay-sayers.

I live in Cali now and I would love to move to Oregon. CA is way to expensive to live. I found that Oregon is like a hidden treasure with not so much plastic and blond around.
Oregon I think has a huge growth potential too as far as real estate etc. CA is in a big fiscally speaking and I think it's a matter of time before people get smart and realize they're paying too much tax to such silliness

I call Oregon the California/Washington blend.
I live in Portland and people have a tendancy to dislike Californians (why??? I dunno). Portland has lots of bars, tempermental weather, more strip clubs per capita than any other city, outstanding restaurants, expensive housing considering the wages, the highest minimum wage in the US, beautiful landscaping, great wines, ... good, bad & ugly just like the rest of the world... but I will say this. Portland has GREAT people living in it!

Unfortunately, I no longer give opinions. Anyone with a differing opinion can violate you without reason. Yahoo Answers seems unable to differentiate between what violates community standards and what does not.
Two weeks ago someone asked opinions about yorkshire terriers. I answered by saying they are the ugliest dog I've ever seen. Guess what? Yep. I was violated for that. One of the yorkie lovers didn't like my answer. Boom! You're violated.
So, I just don't give opinions anymore. I hope Yahoo Answers figures out a solution to this asininity.
